2018 Programme
Welcome to our celebration of black and white film, exploring a range of genres such as classic and contemporary drama, musicals, comedy, horror, silent film and event cinema. The main screenings take place in the magnificent Opera House, opened in 1939 as one of the most luxurious and sophisticated theatres and super cinemas of the pre-war period. You’ll find more screenings in the Grand Foyer as well as talks and exhibitions in the other Opera House rooms.
The festival is now in it’s fourth year and we are pleased to introduce some new additions to the programme:
- Women in Focus: The mark #Vote100, we dedicate Sunday to women in film. Focusing on female directors and strong female leads, there will be discussions, craftivism workshops and resource/awareness raising for local women’s services running alongside the film programme.
- A masterclass for film makers
- Director and Producer Q&D Sessions
