Join us for a local screening of the Blackpool BFI Film Academy’s short film, Christmas.DV!
Sunday 2nd March, 3pm
The Backlot Cinema, FY1 4EN
It’s Christmas Day and Alex has just opened her present – a video camera! As the day of joy and celebration unfolds into chaos and family secrets, Alex’s camera captures it all.
This short film was crafted over 5 months by Blackpool BFI Film Academy participants – from story development to scriptwriting, camera operating to sound recording, directing to editing, they’ve done it all with the help of our Film Academy staff.
Come along for the screening of Christmas.DV, plus a short ‘behind the scenes’ film that looks at moments from the filmmaking journey from BFI Film Academy cohorts in Blackpool, Barrow-in-Furness, Liverpool, Manchester and Rochdale. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers, where they will be discussing their creative process and the journey from idea to screen!
Tickets to this event are free, so make sure you book your tickets soon to secure your place.
BFI Film Academy
Aunty Social has been working in partnership with HOME, Manchester to deliver one of five North West Film Academies. Academy participants have had the opportunity to learn filmmaking skills from industry professionals, gain knowledge of the film industry through in-person and online sessions, and work together to develop and produce their own short film. Participants have also been working throughout the programme to create their own academy portfolios and earn their Silver Arts Award.
